LPA Futures / Futures Partners 2019/2021
As the time for announcing the five winners of LPA Futures 2019/2021 draws closer, we are taking a look at this years competition partners and the amazing prizes the winners receive.
LPA Futures was established in 2007 and since then has gone from strength to strength with the help of our generous partners! Alongside representation by ourselves for the next two years (and sometimes longer) the five winners also receive a plethora of prizes from the LPA partners who help provide the winners with everything they need alongside an agent to kick start their career. Here we take a look at who the competition partners are in more detail.
Delta Design Studio - Internationally recognised as one of the top producers, of photographers’ portfolios. Established over 35 years ago by Cathy Robert, she soon made her mark in the photographic world with her attention to detail and understanding of presentation needs of photographers, designers and artists. She has developed her style creating hand-made items specialising in photographers’ portfolios and bespoke boxes. Each of the five winners of LPA Futures 2019 receive a voucher worth £250 towards a bespoke portfolio hand made by Cathy and her team based in Tottenham.
Holborn Studios – First established in 1979 by Margaret and Vince McCartney, the famous studios are now run by Billy McCartney. Over the past 40 years the studio has flourished into a large-scale creative hub, servicing all aspects of the photographic and film industries. As well as hosting the launch party and exhibition, Holborn Studios is also awarding each of the winners £1200 against studio hire.
Direct Digital – Offering each winner £250 worth of lighting hire as well as discounts on lighting, camera hire and backgrounds for the two years and a training course, Direct Digital ensure the winners have access to all the equipment they could possibly need. The hire company is one of the leading rental companies in the business, offering a great service to the industry for many years.
Swan Turton - Swan Turton is a media law firm which set up in Covent Garden in 2005 and has been advising clients across the media and entertainment spectrum since then. Their photography law practice is the leading UK practice in the field , advising numerous photographers, agents, image libraries, photo agencies, publishers and others. Each winner receives one free hour of legal advice, there when they need it should the situation arise.
Williamson Carson – The insurance brokers have been insuring photographers and production companies since 1986 and are experts in the field. Each LPA Futures winner receives a £250 voucher towards insurance with Williamson Carson, to cover everything from their equipment to re shoot costs.
Norrie Carr Agency - Founded in 1963, NCA is one of the UK's longest-established and most reputable agencies, supplying models of all ages, from newborn babies to OAPs. Initially specialising in representing children, the agency helped put notables such as Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz and Spice Girl Emma Bunton on the road to stardom. They have helped contribute to the LPA Futures launch party to make the launch of the 5 new LPA Futures as fantastic as possible!
MPrint - MPrint was formed 6 years ago by the photographers Matt Wreford and Marc Schlossman. Based in south London, the pair found their niche printing portfolios and specialising in double sided printing. As a small outfit, it is their hands on, highly personal approach alongside their attention to detail and quality which has led to their continued growth and success and a lot of happy clients. MPrint offer each winner 50% off their first 30 portfolio prints and 25% discount after that!
Metro - For nearly forty years Metro has had to transition through analogue and digital imaging and darkroom and creative retouch services. Metro’s Director Steve Macleod, is passionate about the photography community and says at Metro they are proud of their support for graduate and emerging talent – they are the only professional lab in Europe to offer a funded mentorship scheme, so working with LPA Futures synergises with their own perspective in support of those starting out in industry. Metro print the exhibition prints for each of the 5 winners.
Newspaper Club – Working with Newspaper Club, LPA will be sending out a special LPA Futures newspaper after the launch announcing the five talented winners and showcasing images from the launch night in a specially designed newspaper!
The whole team at LPA will also be there on hand for all the five winners, to advise and support with them in every aspect of being a professional, commercial photographer for the next two years, and hopefully longer!
